Aims to study human rights, refugees, humanitarianism, solidarity, legitimacy, and social order, as well as their interactions, so as to highlight the processes of humanization and sovereignty flexibilization in International Law when the positive valuation of the protection of human beings -in peace situation (human rights), in face of persecution (refugees), or in crisis situations (humanitarianism)-, arise

 “Protection and Cooperation in the Refugee Regime” – Prof. Fabiano Lourenço de Menezes

Aims to assess the study of the refugees’ regime in the context of protection (so as to develop studies on the factors that might influence the State to exclude refugees from their protection in its different facets) and cooperation (aiming to analyse the variables that might contribute to the cooperation by the State in easing the pressure in other States that receive massive influxes of refugees in their territories)

“Refuge in Brazil – history, politics, protection and rights” – Prof. Liliana Lyra Jubilut

Aims to describe and assess the institute of refuge in Brazil and the protection of refugees, from the analysis of the normative evolution of the institute from a historical perspective and in relation to political choices. The history is based both in internal and external aspects. It aims to assess the pathways of refugee protection, as they fit into the national and international scenarios, and their compliance to International Refugee Law and to Human Rights

 “Refuge and Art” Prof. Liliana Lyra Jubilut

Aims to assess the intersections between the protection of refugees and Art, analyzing how the latter, as a means for social dialogue, might aid in the former. Developed through authored texts (and in partnership with Art’s experts) and through high school students’ Scientific Initiation projects
